Dental implants are a small, titanium fixture which serves as the replacement for the root portion of a natural tooth.
What do they do?
Implants act as a foundation for crowns, dentures or bridges. They can be used for simple cases to replace a single missing tooth, as well as for more complex cases, replacing all teeth.
Are there any limitations?
Yes. An implant requires a minimum amount of bone to secure them in place, similar to the roots of teeth. On occasions where sufficient bone isn't available, new bone needs to be grafted before an implant is placed.
How long do they last?
Dental implants have offered a way of replacing teeth completely and for long-term. They have convincing success rates of 96% after 15 years.
