Dental Implants Warrington
RESTORE YOUR SMILE & CONFIDENCE
What are dental implants?
Widely considered the best solution for replacing missing teeth, dental implants are permanent structures that are inserted into the jaw. The purpose of dental implants is to replicate the look and function of a natural tooth from the roots to the crown.
Dental implants consist of a screw that is inserted below the gumline so that it can hold a replica tooth on top. Once installed, the implant is designed to work much like a natural tooth in terms of the ability to eat comfortably. In addition, dental implants visually conceal missing teeth to restore the look of the smile.
Replacing the root of the missing tooth, the dental implant provides a secure point to which our Warrington dental team can fasten a false tooth. Implants look great and restore the function of your missing tooth, helping to give you back your confidence and smile.
Dental implants are long-lasting and a great solution, in some cases, lasting a life-time. It’s important to look after your implants carefully and maintain good oral health, even though your new implant is not susceptible to decay, plaque can build up around it leading to gum infection if not cleaned routinely.
The benefits of dental implants
When a tooth is missing, it can create a lot of challenges both in your everyday life as well as over the longer term. For instance, you might struggle to eat properly or feel very self-conscious when you smile or speak.
In some cases, missing teeth can even cause problems such as bone loss which can change the structure of your face and even lead to additional health issues such as chronic headaches.
Dental implants are widely considered the best solution to solve these issues and more. That’s because a dental implant is the closest thing currently available that can replicate the lost function, volume and look of a natural tooth.
Providing structure all the way down to the jaw, dental implants work to support your wider teeth underneath the gum. However, as a patient, the benefits can most be enjoyed in terms of seeing the implant seamlessly blend with the rest of your teeth, almost as if you never had a missing tooth to begin with!
So long as you look after dental implants, they can last for decades if not indefinitely. This means you can wave goodbye to dentures, bridges and of course, any missing gaps in your teeth. For some, wanting to move away from other unsuitable options is the main reason they opt for dental implants.
Beyond looks, dental implants help support the rest of your teeth to ensure that chewing is not only possible on the tooth, but is also comfortable. As a result, Warrington patients who receive dental implants can also enjoy a more nutritious diet to support their health as a whole.
Overall, it’s no exaggeration to say that dental implants can vastly improve the lives of anyone with one or more missing teeth. Given our teeth are on show every time we speak, it can make an incredible difference when these gaps are filled.

Before & After

Questions & Answers
Who is eligible for dental implants?
Most people who have one or missing teeth can have dental implants. As dentists, we also see many patients who are looking to move away from dentures or bridges and onto something that better resembles the look and feel of natural teeth.
During your consultation we’ll be able to determine your eligibility based on the anatomy of your teeth and your overall health. We’ll also be able to tell you more about the type of implants you could have based on your specific circumstances.
If we are able to approve your dental implants, you will need to have an excellent dental hygiene routine which you will need to retain following your treatment. Alongside regular brushing, flossing and mouthwash, this will also require you to attend frequent visits with a dental hygienist.
In some cases, dental implants may not be possible. For instance, if you have bruxism, gum disease, diabetes or a weak immune system. You may also lack sufficient bone which the implants would require to work.
If you aren’t suitable for dental implants, don’t worry. At our Warrington dental practice, we perform a wide range of dental treatments which can address tooth loss which we can tell you about during your consultation.
How do I care for dental implants?
Just like natural teeth, dental implants require care to prevent issues and also maintain their appearance.
It’s important to brush twice daily using a non-abrasive toothpaste. Regular toothpaste is designed to remove plaque and stains, although for dental implants this can damage the implants. Therefore, you will need to switch to a toothpaste that is specifically intended for dental implants.
As part of your dental routine, you also will need to floss twice daily and use mouthwash. Follow up with regular dental hygienist visits.
After your procedure, we will also give you a list of foods and drinks to avoid.
What is the dental implant procedure?
The best way to describe dental implants is that they are a way of replacing a missing tooth from the roots. So instead of being purely cosmetic or only giving you limited ability to chew like a denture, a dental implant offers the best technology available to restore the missing natural tooth.
How dental implants work is that a titanium screw is fitted into the jaw, which will eventually hold the replacement tooth or bridge in place.
Although same day dental implants are sometimes possible, the process typically happens over several appointments.
First, we’ll determine your suitability for implants and take scans of your teeth. If we decide to move ahead, the implants will be installed first which involves implanting the screw into the jaw.
You’ll be given a few weeks to heal, and during this time we’ll take impressions to make the next stage of the process easier and more effective to complete.
The visible portion of your implant (i.e. the crown) will then be fitted at a subsequent appointment.
During all of your Warrington appointments, we will ensure your comfort throughout. We’ll also arrange a follow-up to ensure your implants are successful and that you are happy with the finished result.
How much do dental implants cost?
Dental implants at our Warrington practice start at £2,500.
We can offer a range of options depending on the type of dental implants that would be suitable, along with the number of implants you are looking to have done.
If you require any other treatments to prepare your teeth for implants, then additional fees will apply.
During your free consultation, we can provide a more tailored quotation specific to you as a patient.
